Peptide Testing Australia
Want to find out what is actually in a peptide vial? This guide compares the main testing options available to Australians, including Peptester, Ozcanium Analytics and Janoshik.
Updated August 2026Australian customers can use local testing services such as PepTester and Ozcanium Analytics, or send a sample overseas to Janoshik. The right choice depends on the peptide, the testing you want, the price and how quickly you need the report.
Compare peptide testing services
There is no single best option for every sample. These three services take different approaches, so compare what is included before choosing.
PepTester
Modern Australian ordering and verification platform with identity, purity and net peptide content testing.
We express-posted a 10mg-labelled Retatrutide vial on 14 August. PepTester confirmed laboratory receipt on 18 August and our verified Certificate of Analysis was ready on 30 August, within the advertised 10-business-day turnaround. The sample was confirmed as Retatrutide at 99.87% chromatographic purity and measured 20.28mg net peptide content.
Ozcanium Analytics
Australian analytical testing with broader chemistry capability.
Peptide Hub has commissioned community testing through Ozcanium Analytics. Our recent turnaround has been about six business days from the day the sample was received.
Janoshik
Established overseas laboratory with a very broad peptide testing catalogue.
Peptide Hub has used Janoshik for peptide testing. While the testing service is well established, the longer and more expensive international shipping process means we now generally use Australian testing options instead.
Quick comparison
The main differences are price structure, location, testing range and how much specialist analysis you need.

How much does peptide testing cost in Australia?
The headline price can look similar, but what is included varies. Always check whether you are paying for identity, purity, quantity, contaminant testing or a combination.
Identity, purity and net peptide content. The complete panel is A$499 and adds heavy metal screening for lead, arsenic, cadmium and mercury.
Current Peptide Hub price including GST for routine peptide testing. Ozcanium confirms the suitable method and price before the sample is analysed.
Pricing changes by peptide. BPC 157 is currently US$215 and the common GLP 1 blind test for Semaglutide, Tirzepatide or Retatrutide is US$360.
How long does peptide testing take?
Turnaround starts after the laboratory receives the sample. Postage time is separate, and complex or additional testing can take longer.
Expected from laboratory receipt. Our first Peptide Hub sample was received on 18 August and the completed result was issued on 30 August, within the advertised window.
This is the current website guidance. Our recent real world turnaround has been about six business days from receipt.
Many common peptide analyses currently show an average turnaround of seven business days after the sample arrives.
Our real-world PepTester experience
We independently used the service for a Peptide Hub community test rather than relying only on advertised specifications.
We sent a vial labelled as 10mg Retatrutide by Express Post on 14 August. PepTester confirmed laboratory receipt on 18 August and notified us on Sunday 30 August that the result was ready. The certificate confirmed Retatrutide identity, 99.87% chromatographic purity and 20.28mg of measured net peptide content. The quantity result was particularly useful: it showed why purity and actual peptide content need to be considered separately.
Communication
Communication was excellent. After we sent technical feedback about the public verification system on a Sunday, PepTester responded in about an hour and clearly explained its approach to client confidentiality, sample identification and result interpretation.
Certificate verification
The completed certificate carries a unique certificate number and access key. The original result can be retrieved through PepTester’s online verification system, making it easier to check that a shared certificate is genuine.
Underlying laboratory
Our Certificate of Analysis identifies MS3 Solutions as the testing laboratory and Dr Grant Smolenski as the laboratory analyst. MS3 Solutions is based at the Ruakura Research Centre in Hamilton, New Zealand and provides contract R&D, assay development and analytical testing services.
Main limitation
PepTester’s validated peptide library is still developing. The service covers a useful group of common compounds, but customers testing less common peptides should confirm that a validated method is currently available before ordering.
What does peptide testing actually tell you?
A useful report separates several different questions. A purity number by itself does not answer all of them.
Identity
Checks whether the expected peptide is detected in the submitted sample.
Purity
Measures the proportion of the detected peptide material that corresponds to the target peptide under the selected method.
Peptide content
Measures how much peptide is actually present. This is separate from purity and is especially useful when checking the claimed milligrams in a vial.
Contaminants
Additional testing can look for specific contaminants such as heavy metals. This is not automatically included with every peptide test.
HPLC peptide testing explained
You will see several analytical methods mentioned across peptide reports. They answer different questions.
HPLC and UPLC
These methods separate compounds in a sample and are commonly used when assessing peptide purity.
Mass spectrometry
Mass spectrometry can help confirm the identity of a peptide by looking at molecular information from the sample.
LC MS MS
This combines liquid chromatography with mass spectrometry and can be useful for peptide identification and more detailed analysis.
ICP MS
This is used for elemental analysis and can measure metals such as lead, arsenic, cadmium and mercury at very low levels.
How to get a peptide tested
The exact submission process varies, but the basic steps are simple.
Compare the peptide they support, the price, turnaround and what is included in the report.
Decide whether you need identity, purity, peptide content, heavy metals or another specific test.
Many peptide tests require a full unopened lyophilised vial. Check before sending anything.
Follow the laboratory instructions and keep your tracking information.
Review the result, testing method, measured peptide content where applicable and any report verification details.

These are some of the most common questions Australians search when looking for independent peptide testing.
Where can I get peptides tested in Australia?
Australian customers can use local services such as PepTester and Ozcanium Analytics. Janoshik is another established option, but samples need to be sent overseas.
How much does peptide testing cost in Australia?
PepTester currently lists identity, purity and net peptide content testing at A$399 per vial and a complete panel at A$499. Our Peptide Hub order also incurred A$13 shipping. Ozcanium is currently A$440 including GST based on Peptide Hub pricing. Janoshik pricing varies by peptide and commonly starts around US$215.
Can I get peptide purity testing in Australia?
Yes. Australian testing options include PepTester and Ozcanium Analytics. The exact method and report content depend on the service and test selected.
What is HPLC peptide testing?
HPLC separates compounds in a sample and is commonly used to assess peptide purity. It is often combined with other methods when identity or peptide content also needs to be confirmed.
Can testing confirm how many milligrams are in a vial?
Some peptide tests include quantitative analysis or net peptide content. This can show the measured peptide amount and lets you compare it with the amount claimed on the vial.
What is the difference between peptide purity and peptide content?
Purity describes the proportion of the peptide material attributed to the target peptide under the testing method. Peptide content measures the actual amount of peptide present. A sample can show high purity while still containing less peptide than the vial claims.
Can peptide testing detect heavy metals?
Yes, when heavy metal analysis is specifically included or added. PepTester offers an ICP MS contaminant panel, while Janoshik lists heavy metal analysis as an additional service on supported tests.
Can peptide testing prove a vial is sterile?
No. Identity and purity testing does not prove sterility. Sterility requires separate microbiological testing. A laboratory result also does not establish that a product is safe or suitable for human use.
Can Australians use Janoshik?
Yes. Janoshik accepts international samples. Australians need to account for international postage and follow the laboratory submission instructions.
Do I need to send a whole vial?
For many peptide tests, yes. PepTester requires a full unopened lyophilised vial, and many Janoshik peptide analyses also specify one whole unopened vial. Always check the requirements for the exact test before posting a sample.
Has Peptide Hub used PepTester?
Yes. Peptide Hub independently submitted a Retatrutide sample in August 2026. PepTester confirmed laboratory receipt on 18 August and issued the result on 30 August, within its advertised 10-business-day turnaround. The certificate reported 99.87% chromatographic purity and 20.28mg net peptide content for a vial declared as 10mg.
