Our Experience

Our experience with Peptester was positive from the beginning. The website is modern, professionally presented and one of the easiest peptide testing websites we have used. Pricing, testing options, expected turnaround times and submission instructions are all clearly displayed, making the ordering process straightforward.

We purchased Peptester’s Identity/Purity Test for $399, with an additional $13 shipping charge associated with the order. The test covers peptide identity, chromatographic purity and measured net peptide content.

Our Retatrutide vial was sent by Express Post on 14 August and Peptester confirmed receipt of the sample on 18 August. The completed results were provided on Sunday 30 August.

This put our submission within Peptester’s stated turnaround period of approximately 10 business days from laboratory receipt. There were no unexplained delays or communication issues during the process.

The final Certificate of Analysis was professionally presented and contained considerably more than a headline purity figure. It included identity confirmation, chromatographic purity, measured net peptide content, an RP-HPLC chromatogram, mass spectrum, laboratory information, certificate number and a unique verification key.

Laboratory and Analytical Background

An important part of our assessment was understanding who actually performs the analytical work behind the Peptester reports.

Our Certificate of Analysis identifies MS3 Solutions as the laboratory performing the testing. MS3 Solutions is an established analytical and contract research laboratory based at the Ruakura Research Centre in Hamilton, New Zealand.

MS3 Solutions provides specialist research, assay development and analytical testing services across multiple industries. Its founding director, Dr Grant Smolenski, has more than 20 years of experience in high-end protein analysis and has been involved in peer-reviewed research covering mass spectrometry, proteomics, analytical chemistry and protein analysis.

Dr Smolenski was also identified as the laboratory analyst on our Peptester Certificate of Analysis.

We consider the identifiable laboratory and analyst behind the report to be an important positive. It allows customers to understand where the analytical work is actually being performed rather than relying solely on the Peptester brand.

Turnaround Time

Peptester states that its expected turnaround time is 10 business days from the day a sample is received by the laboratory.

Our sample was confirmed as received on 18 August and the completed Certificate of Analysis was issued on 30 August. This represented approximately nine business days when the laboratory receipt date is included and was consistent with the timeframe advertised by Peptester.

We were particularly impressed that the result notification arrived on a Sunday. There was no need for us to chase the laboratory for the final report.

Online Certificate Verification

One of the strongest features of Peptester’s service is its online Certificate of Analysis verification system.

When testing was completed, we received a unique certificate number and secure access key. These details can be entered into Peptester’s verification page to retrieve the original certificate directly from its system.

This provides a useful additional layer of transparency. A PDF uploaded by a vendor or independent testing platform can potentially be altered or presented without context. Peptester’s verification system allows the underlying certificate number to be checked against the laboratory’s own record.

Our certificate is PT-2026-0056 with sample ID PTA-0068. The original Certificate of Analysis contains the unique access key required to retrieve the verified report through Peptester’s website.

The Retatrutide Result

The sample was declared as a 10mg Retatrutide vial. Peptester confirmed the identity as Retatrutide and measured chromatographic purity at 99.87%.

The most notable finding was the measured net peptide quantity of 20.28mg per vial.

This was more than double the 10mg quantity declared for the sample and demonstrates why measuring actual peptide content can provide information that a purity percentage alone cannot.

A sample can have high chromatographic purity while still containing substantially more or less peptide than the amount stated on the vial. Peptester reports identity, purity and net peptide quantity separately, which made the discrepancy immediately clear.

Communication

Communication was one of the strongest parts of our experience.

After receiving the result, we contacted Peptester with feedback about how the verification system could potentially be strengthened for independent vendor testing. We suggested displaying additional information that could help connect a public certificate with the original submitted vial.

Peptester replied approximately one hour later, despite the correspondence taking place on a Sunday.

The company explained that submitter and supplier details are deliberately not displayed because protecting client confidentiality forms part of its protocol. Instead, it suggested photographing the original branded vial alongside the Peptester sample reference number, or having Peptester apply the reference label during processing.

We considered that a sensible solution. It retains confidentiality for customers who require it while giving independent testing organisations such as Peptide Hub a practical way of showing which physical vial corresponds with a particular laboratory result.

Understanding “Meets Specification”

We also asked Peptester to clarify the “Meets Specification” terminology displayed within its verification system because our sample was declared as 10mg but contained 20.28mg of measured peptide.

Peptester explained that this terminology relates specifically to the identity and purity testing criteria. In other words, the sample met the relevant identity and chromatographic purity specification despite being substantially overdosed in terms of actual net peptide content.

We thought the clarification was useful because identity, purity and quantity are separate analytical measurements. The response also demonstrated that Peptester was willing to discuss the result in detail rather than simply provide a certificate and leave the customer to interpret it.

Available Testing Services

Peptester currently offers an Identity/Purity Test for $399 per vial. This includes identity by mass spectrometry, purity by HPLC-UV and net peptide content.

A separate contaminant test is available for $199 per vial and screens for lead, arsenic, cadmium and mercury. Peptester also offers a combined Identity, Purity and Contaminant panel.

The company states that it develops and validates methods for individual compounds rather than simply applying one generic method to every peptide. This is a positive analytical approach, although it means the current testing library remains smaller than some customers may require.

Peptides Currently Available for Testing

  • Retatrutide
  • BPC-157
  • Copper Tripeptide (GHK-Cu)
  • Melanotan II (MT-II)
  • TB-500
  • Bremelanotide (PT-141)
  • MOTS-c
  • Kisspeptin-10
  • Tirzepatide
  • Semaglutide
  • Ipamorelin
  • AOD-9604

Peptester also currently lists the Wolverine Stack and GLOW among the peptide blends it can test.

The current selection covers many of the more commonly encountered research peptides in Australia, but this is the main area where we would like to see Peptester expand.

There are a substantial number of other peptides now appearing within the Australian research market. A broader validated method library would make the service more useful for independent testing programs such as ours.

Peptester states that its testing library is continuing to expand and encourages customers to contact the company regarding compounds that are not currently listed so they can be considered for future method development.

Would We Use Peptester Again?

Yes. Based on this submission, we would confidently use Peptester again for future Peptide Hub Australia Community Transparency Program testing.

The ordering process was simple, communication was excellent, the advertised turnaround period was met and the final Certificate of Analysis was detailed and professionally presented.

We particularly liked the ability to independently verify the original certificate through Peptester’s website rather than relying exclusively on a downloadable PDF.

The main limitation at present is the size of the available peptide testing library. However, Peptester is actively developing additional compound-specific methods, so this is something we expect to improve as the service develops.

Final Verdict

9.5 / 10

Our first experience with Peptester was excellent. The website and ordering process were clean and straightforward, communication was highly responsive and our Retatrutide sample was completed within the company’s advertised turnaround period.

The Certificate of Analysis confirmed the sample as Retatrutide at 99.87% chromatographic purity and measured 20.28mg of net peptide content despite the vial being declared as 10mg.

The analytical report included the underlying HPLC chromatogram and mass spectrum, and the certificate could be independently retrieved through Peptester’s online verification system using its unique certificate number and access key.

We were also impressed by the technical background behind the analytical work. Our sample was tested by MS3 Solutions, an established contract research and analytical laboratory, with experienced analytical scientist Dr Grant Smolenski identified as the laboratory analyst.

There were no meaningful service or communication issues during our test. The main area we would like to see expanded is the number of peptide compounds available within Peptester’s validated testing library.

Overall, Peptester delivered exactly what we were looking for from an independent peptide testing service: straightforward ordering, responsive communication, transparent analytical data, a professional report and a certificate that can be independently verified online. We will use the service again for future independent community testing.

I tested mine with peptester and the only concern I have is, mine two tests of different peptides came back the same as yours. High purity but way off on quantity.

Is this just a coincidence? Mine were listed at 20mg but one came back at 10.71 and the other 12.78
